The Skateriots began in 2018, but officially incorporated in 2021 with an all-new group of parents and board members to provide opportunities for youth to skate while many other New England teams had not yet returned due to Covid. We are now a thriving group of around 40 players and growing.
The New England Skateriots is the only New England-wide junior roller derby team. We welcome junior skaters of all genders age 7-17 regardless of skating ability. We will teach you the rules of roller derby. NESR is a 100% volunteer-run, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
The Skateriots coaches are all flat track roller derby players and former players, who work with our skaters to develop skilled athletes. We prioritize safety, with mandatory protective equipment, and high training standards for coaches and volunteers.
We are a JRDA-affiliated team. All of our skaters learn to play by the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) rule set.
The Skateriots’ mission is to provide a fun, safe, and supportive environment for young athletes to play the team sport of roller derby and connect with an inclusive community.
